FAQ: FEE STRUCTURE

1. WHAT IS THE RETAINER, AND HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
The retainer is an invoice for a predetermined number of hours of design and admin that must be paid in full to begin your project. Based on your personal scope of work, I will estimate the amount of hours I need to complete your preliminary design (step 3). I ask for the retainer at the start of a project as a gesture of good faith., and after it is used up, you will receive notification before an additional hours will be used.

2. WHY DO YOU CHARGE A MARKUP ON ITEMS ?
The best way to answer this is based on my years of research and experience with product lines, relationship with trade-only vendors, and the extensive amount of management that goes into selecting, ordering, tracking, inspecting, and placing a product. Because of my special vendor relationships, you will usually pay LESS than retail for new. Also keep in mind while I am sourcing and ordering items you are not charged an hourly fee !

3. WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR FREIGHT/DELIVERY WHEN RETAILERS SHIP FOR FREE?

Many retailers advertise "free shipping," when in reality they are simply rolling the cost of freight into the price of the item. We prefer complete transparency, which is why you see pricing for freight on each item. If your products are delivered to and stored at our warehouse facility, you will incur a small fee for "white glove delivery," which is the cost to inspect, store, deliver, and carefully install your products on Installation Day. You are never charged a markup for freight or delivery.
